We uncover the most picturesque and luxury Airbnb stays beautiful British Columbia has to offer
As the province re-opens and interprovincial travel becomes a reality again, we’re all chomping at the bit for a little adventure. Whether it’s a night away from the city or a week-long trip catching up with family and friends, take a well-deserved break and get excited about exploring again…
Location: The Birdhouse Retreat, Chilliwack The details: $142 per night, plus fees, with a two-night minimum stay (Sleeps two)
The amenities: The perfect place to relax and enjoy nature, The Birdhouse Retreat was designed and built as a passion project and sits on its own private, fully-fenced acre of land, with a long winding driveway. A cable suspension bridge leads the way to the treehouse entrance where you’ll find a cozy custom kitchen, with all you need to prep and cook, a small living room with love seat and reading nook. The rolling library ladder climbs up to the skylight sleeping loft, featuring clear views of the skies and trees above. Leading from the living room, a pair of French doors open up to a cedar deck and chairs with a stunning view of the mountains, perfect for both stargazing and enjoying a morning coffee. And to really be one with nature, the outdoor shower provides a private sanctuary for you to get naked with nature. A campfire pit is also available for use, though attention must be paid to provincial or area fire bans.
Activities in the area: Located in Ryder Lake, a quiet little community in the mountains, explore the Mount Thom trail, which is a short three-minute drive away. It’s a quick and easy hike. The popular Elk Mountain hike is also nearby and perfect for a full-day activity. The Birdhouse is also 20 minutes to Cultus Lake with local pubs and breweries to quench your thirst.
