7 Shopping Picks to Refresh Your Home This Spring

Welcome the warmer weather with new patio furniture, fresh room sprays and more

I couldn’t help myself. I went shopping and found fabulous treasures you may not need, but most certainly will love. Just like our wardrobes, our homes deserve a little update every season too. Here are seven ideas to give every room in the house a little refresh this spring.

1. Cozey’s Shinuk Collection

Cozey’s new Shinuk outdoor furniture collection is the perfect hybrid of form and function for patio living this spring. You can configure any number of stylish pieces however it suits your space. These patio pieces come with wicker-style seating and cushions in two colourways, including storage under the seat. Plus, there are coffee tables that can be attached and ottomans for kicking back.

2. Auk Mini Indoor Garden Box

Auk Mini Smart Indoor Garden is a rather chic, Scandinavian indoor hydroponic garden. In my Auk mini garden box, I’m currently growing basil and cilantro in anticipation of warmer months and cooking with my two favourite herbs—all without running to the grocery store. A built-in LED lamp keeps the plants happy with lots of light, and the hydroponic watering system means I can ignore it for weeks. Plus, it takes up minimal counter space.

3. Soja & Co.’s Spring Collection

The freshly launched spring collection from Soja & Co. is quite literally a breath of fresh air for your humble abode, with this latest offering scented with thyme and coconut. Choose from hand soap, reed diffusers (love these tucked into a closet shelf to de-musty those closed, tiny rooms), soy wax candles, spray cleaners and more.

4. Nellie’s Clean Laundry Cubes

Nellie’s Clean just launched Laundry Cubes, which you toss into your washing machine for a laundry experience that’ll make you feel smarter and greener by choosing these. Since these come in a box or tin, all plastic packaging waste is eliminated. Plus, the pods themselves do not contain those harmful microplastics that stick around in our water afterward. No measuring, no waste, all clean.

5. Valena Soap Co.’s Fairmont Collection

Valena Soap Co.’s Fairmont Creamy Earl Grey Collection is a lovely collab with the iconic hotel brand, namely the Fairmont Empress, Banff Springs, Lake Louise, Jasper Park Lodge and Château Frontenac. Order online to spritz a little scent around your own home to get the serious luxury hotel vibes happening.

6. Knives from Knifewear

Knifewear started in Calgary and has since grown to be the largest online retailer of Japanese knives in North America, with a retail space in Vancouver too. If you’re looking to upgrade your knife skills, this is the best investment you can make for your kitchen and your cooking. The Ichigo Nezu Santoku 170mm is the ideal all-purpose kitchen knife with great edge retention, and not to worry about chipping or dulling.

7. Saje’s New Ultrasonic Sleep Diffuser

Saje’s Aroma Tidal Ultrasonic Sleep Diffuser is exactly what your bedroom is missing. The brand is calling this diffuser the “ultimate dream machine” because it goes beyond just scenting your room with essential oil diffusion to invite sleep, but also has a red light (which cues the mind for the fast train to sleepy town), three soundscapes and a guided breathing mode.
