Beyond just a place to get clean, our bath and shower is often our sanctuary, our think-tank and our “me-time” and “do-not-disturb” space. Every time you sink chin-deep into that soaker tub,or step into the same ol’ shower, you can personalize your experience with bath and shower products that elevate the vibe. Whether for relaxing or revving us up, time-saving or spa-at-home slow, here are seven bath and shower products from local brands to keep on rotation.
Sometimes we need a pick-me-up in the shower, especially on groggy Monday mornings (rr when we are feeling a tad under the weather, maybe fighting a cold or flu). I love the Tea Tree & Mint Purifying body wash from Canadian brand Renpure for its invigorating scent that clears my cloudy head. It’s a non-drying formula and a great price for good quality, too.
When I only have time for a shower but really want a bath-esque experience, the Sun Shower Liquid Sunshine shower steamer trio from Saje is my answer. Toss one of these squares on the shower floor, and when the shower stream hits it, the fizzing starts, letting loose the uplifting fragrance of Vancouver brand Saje’s classic Liquid Sunshine. The shower becomes your own spa-at-home with the aromatherapy benefits of grapefruit bergamot and lime.
Bathorium, a Canadian brand, is getting plenty of buzz these days. The Snooze bomb is aptly named, with its scents of peaceful patchouli and a hint of citrus to encourage pre-bedtime relaxation and improve the quality of zzz’s. Products are PH-balanced with no irritants, synthetic fragrances or colours.
This Eucalyptus body and hand wash is from MIFA, a women-owned B.C. brand, and it’s made with quality organic 100-percent natural ingredients. Squeeze it on a sponge in the shower to create a creamy lather that does not dry out the skin. A blend of eucalyptus, lavender, geranium and peppermint is sure to stimulate the senses.
The Serene bath tea is one of many bath soak blends from B.C. brand Fern & Petal, but I always reach for this one in particular to bring my stress level way, way down. Fill the reusable cotton ‘tea bag’ with a few scoops of these pink Himalayan salts infused with rose and peppermint, let it dissolve in your hot bath and breathe in that restorative steam.
Epic Blend’s Cherry Blossom bubble bath seems like the perfect spring time bath product, yes? Just in time for the season here in B.C., add a splash of this bubble bath to your tub for chamomile, calendula, green tea extracts and moisturizing benefits. I love this for a morning bath; a fresh way to start a sunny spring day.
