We're showcasing Vancouver's best restaurants and special menu items—and why they should be your next takeout option
Restaurant: Tacofino
Location: 15 West Cordova Street, Gastown
The Dishes: Good Times sandwiches
The Details: If you haven’t heard already, Tacofino is turning “tough times into good times” with their sandwich and snack pop-up shop. Fuelled by a desire to get creative with unused kitchen space as a response to recent public health orders on indoor dining, Tacofino co-founder Jason Sussman and managing partner Gino Di Domenico, teamed up with chefs Jamie Cholack, Paulis Langins and Kevin Reimer to provide Vancouverites with something delicious amid the ongoing challenges of COVID-19. Inspired by nothing more than a desire for a delicious sandwhich, Good Times sandwiches are exclusively available at Tacofino’s Gastown location for patio dining, takeaway and delivery via DoorDash.
All sandwiches come with a side of Dorito-flavoured tater tots (yum!), plus you can take your pick of chicken or prawn katsu sando ($16.50), beef tongue rueben ($19.50), cumin-spiced lamb ($17.50), or cauliflower po’ boy ($15.50). The pop-up shop is set to run for two weeks, but could be longer because… who knows these days?!
