This modern stay offers expansive views of the ocean while in the comfort of the indoors. Enjoy a morning coffee amongst nature at the Saltwood Ucluelet Beach House.
Location: Ucluelet, British Columbia
The details: $419 per night plus fees; three night minimum stay; sleeps four
The amenities: This home is situated at the edge of Wild Pacific Trail, where the forest meets the ocean. With 12-foot floor-to-ceiling windows throughout the space, the Saltwood Beach House offers sweeping views of nature and friendly backyard neighbours like whales, eagles and bears.
This stay perfectly encapsulates the Japandi design style, from the light-toned millwork to the seamless integration of the outdoors. The large windows and natural elements in the space make visitors feel as if they are sitting at the edge of a mountain, watching ocean waves pass by.
You’ll have plenty of opportunities to spend time outdoors, as this beach house features a private deck, an outdoor saltwater hot tub and an outdoor seating area. There is also a gourmet kitchen available, complete with full-sized appliances. Cook up a storm on the four-burner gas stove and store your fresh produce in the large fridge. Craving a latte? Make your own cafe-level brew using the Breville espresso machine.
This home offers two stylish bedrooms for visitors to enjoy a comfortable stay. The master bedroom houses a king-sized bed and beautiful ocean views. You’ll find a queen-sized bed in the second bedroom, along with calming views of the surrounding forests.
Japandi design elements also extend to the bathroom, with light millwork and chevron white tiles in the standing shower. Visitors are able to stay cozy in the bathroom, as there is heated flooring and serene forest views. The 12-foot ceilings also extend to the bathroom, so the entire space feels bright and welcoming.
Fur parents will be happy to know that this stay allows pets. A 30 lbs or under, well-behaved dog is allowed for an additional pet fee. Treats and doggy dishes are available, too. Be sure to communicate with the host for extra details or restrictions.
This beach house is at an excellent location, with plenty to see and do nearby. Enjoy time in nature at Wild Pacific Trail (which is only steps from your door) or walk along the beaches at the Pacific Rim National Park. Want more of an indoor experience? Walk or drive three minutes to the Ucluelet community centre, where you’ll find community events, local boutiques and dining spots.
