Since joining Saturday Night Live, Wiig, Sudeikis, and Samberg have each seen great success, leading some to believe that they may be moving on to greener pastures
From left to right: Kristen Wiig, Jason Sudeikis, and Andy Samberg
The long-rumored departure of Kristen Wiig and Jason Sudeikis from Saturday Night Live got another boost with an Us Weekly article saying it’s a certainty that the two, as well as Andy Samberg, are quitting. But a source close to the show disputes this report.
“No decisions will be made until later this summer,” said a source.
If the three do leave, it won’t be a terrible surprise. Wiig has seen tremendous success with her Oscar-nominated film Bridesmaids and has numerous projects in the works. Plus she’s been with the show since 2005. Sudeikis has been with SNL since 2003 and he too has a number of films in various stages of production. As for Samberg, he just wrapped on three films, two involving former SNL star Adam Sandler.
So, will you be sad if they leave? Or does the show need some new blood?
