This Indigenous performance festival is back, and has expanded to two venues—the Museum of Anthropology (MOA) at UBC and the Anvil Centre in New Westminster. The return to the MOA after a six-year hiatus means an expanded program to honour Indigenous stories, song and dance. Programs at the MOA will include signature evening performances and artist talks, while the Anvil Centre will offer mainly daytime performances and one signature evening performance. For more details on programs throughout the week, check out the Coastal Dance Festival website.

One of the city’s largest cocktail parties is back for another week of sipping and ahh-ing. This event is presented by The Alchemist magazine, with over 40 events throughout the week. The party kicks off on March 2 with the traditional “Signature Sunday Cocktail Brunch” at ARC Restaurant. The rest of the week will include seminars, tastings, master classes, parties and drag shows at partnering bars around town. There are also neighbourhood cocktail crawls happening throughout the week, where you can explore creations by local mixologists. To close off the event, the “Black & White Gala” is happening on March 8, featuring live music, a DJ, elevated bar snacks and over two dozen sponsors. Whether you are a cocktail enthusiast or the occasional G&T sipper, there is something here for you.
DanceHouse is hosting the Vancouver premiere of this ice dance performance in partnership with Canada Dance Ice Theatre. The performance is brought to life by 15 international skaters performing choreography by Alexandre Hamel, Pascale Jodoin and Samory Ba. The skaters mimic the fluid movements of bird flocks with precision, dancing to a musical soundtrack composed by Jasmin Boivin and Philippe Le Bon.
