While many secluded cabins in the mountains offer a more rustic aesthetic, this modern stay does the exact opposite. It offers modern amenities while providing the luxury of residing within Mother Nature’s beauty. Take your time to fully unwind at this secluded stay, which is tucked up neatly along the mountainside.
This newly built cabin was created using locally sourced charred cedar, and offers incredible views of Copper Mountain. Although the property looks as if it could be two cabins, it is actually one cabin with two wings. One side is dedicated to the bedroom and bathroom, while the other houses the kitchen and living area.
Visitors staying during winter months are required to use winter tires, as the area is often challenged with snow dumps. There is also parking available just under the cabin, so visitors won’t need to worry about their cars being buried in snow.
The entrance of the cabin is situated between the two wings. Head inside to find a streamlined aesthetic throughout the space. The interior is mainly dressed with black, white and creams. The architect incorporated medium oak countertops to add a hint of warmth to the otherwise chic, cool space.
There’s an abundance of windows throughout the home, including floor-to-ceiling windows in the living room and a large skylight above the kitchen space. The added natural lighting makes the home feel more spacious while offering great views of Copper Mountain! This space allows you to enjoy sunset views while sipping a glass of red in the comfort of the home.
The kitchen space has everything you need to cook up a full meal. The hosts have a supply of pots and pans, a variety of seasoning and silverware available. There’s also a toaster you can use for toasting up breakfast bread!
Head into the bedroom to find a set of floor-to-ceiling windows mirroring the ones in the living room, offering the same great views. Sleeping in the king-sized bed with views of nature will feel as if you’re resting directly on a nest of evergreen trees.
You’ll find an ensuite bathroom next to the bedroom, equipped with a standing shower. Remember when I mentioned plenty of natural lighting throughout the cabin? Well, the bathroom is no exception. The natural lighting in the bathroom is let in by two slim windows–one above the sink and the other along a wall.
This space truly encapsulates the best of both worlds–the luxury of modernity and the serenity of nature.
Although this cabin is tucked along the mountainside, nearby activities are still quite accessible by car. Visitors will have no problem exploring the Kootenay region! The cabin is only a scenic 10-minute drive from Nelson and 20-minute drive from White Water Ski Resort. Relax and soak in a hot spring at the Ainsworth Hot Springs Resort or the Halfway River Hot Springs. For the avid hikers, the Kokanee Glacier Provincial Park is nearby, with great scenic hiking trails. City-exploring is also an option–enjoy a night out at Spiritbar with live music or a few craft beers at Torchlight Brewing. You’ve got endless options to choose from!
