This fall, enjoy the diverse and picturesque golf courses in Kamloops
While the sun may be setting on hot summer days, the fall season is the ideal time to plan an extraordinary mid-week golf getaway in picturesque Kamloops. The sun-streaked breezy days and cooler evenings provide perfect golfing weather. Kamloops offers phenomenal golfing landscapes, from breathtaking lakeshores and dramatic cliffside views to alpine backdrops with nearly 1,200 metres of elevation change. Reasonable rates, crowd-free spaces and unbeatable course diversity make golfing in Kamloops more enticing than ever.
Maximize your enjoyment and save money by combining accommodations, rounds and more activities with a golf package that’s perfect for you. From the September Swing Getaway to the Fall Fairways Golf Getaway to the Diverse Play Golf Getaway, Kamloops has a wide variety of attractive packages to choose from. Don’t see exactly what you’re looking for? The reservations team will be pleased to help you customize a package to meet all of your specific needs. According to Tourism Kamloops’ Director of Industry Relations and Communications, Monica Dickinson, the courses and packages available offer something for everyone.
We are blessed with eight exceptional golf courses. Each course is very distinct, and no two tracks are the same, she says. We have courses located at valley bottom alongside the Thompson River or overlooking Kamloops Lake and we also have an alpine course at Sun Peaks Resort. There’s an exceptionally diverse array of courses to challenge each and every player.
With weekend availability quickly filling up, mid-week golfing getaways are still available this fall and easy to book. The welcoming vibe, relaxed dress code and crowd-free spaces will immediately make you comfortable on the fairways. Kamloops is known for being home to the top-ranking Tobiano and Talking Rock golf courses featuring some of the most jaw-dropping topography in Canada. From advanced golfers to couples on romantic getaways, Kamloops offers an unforgettable mid-week experience that leaves visitors coming back for more.
Your stay in Kamloops would not be complete without a visit to one of the idyllic wineries along the Kamloops Wine Trail or without sampling a local brew from one of the beloved craft breweries. Artisans and farmers’ markets take place every Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday giving visitors the chance to connect with local makers. With over one hundred lakes nearby, Kamloops is also known as a world-class fishing destination with ample access to trophy still water.
In the fall, it’s all about flavours in Kamloops. We have four award-winning wineries and five craft breweries, many of which have restaurants attached. It’s a chance to experience our local flavours and the perfect complement to a round of golf, she says. Fall is also ideal for fishing and even if you don’t have the gear or know where to go, we have great fishing guides who will happily show you the best places to hook the big ones.
A myriad of health and safety protocols have been implemented on and off the course to ensure the best golf experience for visitors in Kamloops. With rounds played in small groups, everyone can enjoy open spaces and easily embrace physical distancing. Courses have increased their sanitation practices and extra precautions have been added such as no rakes currently allowed in the bunkers and permanent flags in place to remove high touch points. Hotels, restaurants, transportation providers and other partners in Kamloops have also been diligent with implementing new health and safety procedures to protect both guests and residents.
Our community warmly welcomes golfers and we have taken all the necessary steps to ensure that they have an exceptional and safe experience, says Dickinson. If you haven’t already discovered Kamloops, this is the perfect year for it to be on your radar and added to your list of must-visit places.
