Drop what you're doing and pick up your credit card, Topshop has arrived.
The Bay continues its push to rebrand from purveyor of stodgy expedition gear to style-savvy appeal, and the newly launched Topshop capsule in the Vancouver store certainly helps.
Update: Topshop and Topman take over a floor at The Bay Vancouver
674 Granville Street, 2nd Floor, Vancouver
“The Bay is thrilled to bring the Topshop collection to Western Canada,” says Bonnie Brooks, President and CEO, The Bay. “The response from our first launch in Toronto has been overwhelmingly positive, and excitement continues to build. We know that the brand’s fashion-forward style is a great fit with the Vancouver market.”
I first encountered Topshop as a student in London and the fire hasn’t gone out of our long-term relationship. The British retail chain is the queen of the high street. I’d call it a candy shop for clothes-lovers, but that would be a serious understatement.

Naturally, Topshop’s UK flagship contains a real candy shop alongside a dazzling range of new clothing collections, a vintage lounge, a hair salon, nail bar and bike repair station.
Before I cease my rambling praise, I’d also like to add that it’s the only store where edgy mums and daughters can shop alongside one another; you may even spot Gwyneth Paltrow rubbing elbows with a Shoreditch hipster. Plus, Topshop takes care of humble design students and helps them launch fabulous careers.

The Topshop capsule will be the first opp for Vancouverites to shop from a curated selection of the UK-based brand. The looks are fun and eclectic, with leopard print lace-up boots, boho inspired blouses, retro 70s trousers and more.
I also hear that soon shoppers from across Canada will be able to purchase Topshop merchandise through The Bay’s online store.
