It’s been quite a struggle to get peppers to germinate this cool spring. Even though I put them on bottom heat, (with a thermostatically-controlled heater cable), they took their time. Finally, they are big enough to be transplanted into their own 4 in. pots, which I will put back on bottom heat until warmer conditions are here to stay. Once pepper roots have filled the 4 in. pots, the seedlings will get potted into screened compost in 2-gallon pots (above). I now grow all my peppers this way, as I have found it much better than trying to grow peppers outdoors in the garden in temperamental summers. Back to the Victory Garden Program.
