Kyle from BC Greenhouse Builders arrives with our greenhouse framework and glass panels.
A south-facing site is selected and measured out.
The site is excavated enough to allow for a cement foundation.
Sand is delivered!
The sand is tamped down and leveled within the foundation frame.
A trench allows water and power to be directed to the greenhouse from the house.
Reinforcing mesh is placed on top of the sand foundation. Note floor drain in the centre of the greenhouse floor.
Everything is ready to go now for the delivery of the cement!
The cement arrives!
Here we go…
The cement is spread out to fill the entire foundation and leveled.
Cement is smoothed to perfection.
Cedar boards are bolted into the cement to give the greenhouse additional height.
Finally, the walls go up!
Glass panels are added.
Wire shelving is added for seedling trays.
And our greenhouse is ready to go!
The greenhouse is a lovely place to sit and celebrate with a glass of wine!Time to celebrate! The greenhouse is not only wonderful for plants – it’s a lovely warm spot to enjoy the sunshine on a cool afternoon and share some wine with a good friend.
