Based in Vancouver, JC Masks makes non-medical face masks with comfortable fabrics and pretty prints. Toronto-founded brand Ellie Mae’s high-quality masks are made with Liberty of London cotton, hand-sewn in Canada, and are machine washable. A portion of every sale is being donated to Black Health Alliance, a community-led charity that works to improve the well-being of black people in Canada.

Proudly crafted in Canada, Joesph Tassoni’s face masks are made with locally sourced materials that help reduce their carbon footprint. The breathable, unisex styles come in a multitude of colours and with every purchase, $5 is donated to the Joseph Brant Hospital to help support everyone working on the frontlines.

Moji has teamed up with fashion start-up Sprout Collection to provide high-quality, stylish and protective face masks. Manufactured in Toronto, and helping those who became unemployed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Moji has hired local seamstresses directly affected, so you can rest assured that you are purchasing a hand-made, 100 percent cotton mask that’s supporting a good cause.

10. Glasnost, $24

Vancouver-based clothing designer and maker, Stephanie Schneider, takes inspiration from the natural elements of the Pacific Northwest in her designs, and her masks follow suit. With a minimalist look and hand-painted watercolours, all masks are handmade with sustainable fabric in her East Vancouver studio.

11. Search and Rescue Denim Co., $24

Founded in 2012, Search & Rescue Denim Co. manufactures premium aprons in Vancouver. They recently designed ‘The Resistance’ mask in an effort to help protect the community while not taking away from the limited supply of PPE for frontline workers. The face coverings come in different sizes (children’s size are also available), with a double-layered pocket to insert filters.
