From must-see attractions to outdoor adventures and more, discover and explore the best B.C. has to offer
Whether you grew up on the West Coast, have recently moved here, or are just planning to visit, there’s no doubt you’ve got a bunch of adventures you can’t wait to cross off your bucket list. To help you prioritize, we’re sharing some of our must-do B.C. experiences so you don’t miss out.
Experience: Ciao down on the Gastown Historic Walking Food Tour
Cost: From $124.95
Location: Starts at Waterfront Station, 601 West Cordova Street, Vancouver; ends at Trees Organic Coffee Gastown, 321 Water Street, Vancouver
Bucket list factor: Calling all foodies! If you’ve been wanting to explore Gastown (whether you’re local or visiting), and weren’t sure where to start, look no further. The Gastown Historic Walking Food Tour is the perfect way to discover the rich history—and cuisine—of this lively downtown neighbourhood.
A storytelling tour guide will lead a group of up to 16 participants for 2.5-hour experience. Make sure to keep your eyes peeled and listen to the tour guide as they’ll share little-known stories about the city and its 150-year history. Now’s the time to ask all those burning questions about what went on along those cobblestone streets in the past!
We suggest you embark on this journey on an empty stomach, since the tour will take you to seven food tastings and three alcohol tastings around the neighbourhood. You’ll get the scoop on where to find the best local craft beer, Japanese karaage chicken, freshly made pasta with local wine, award-winning cheesecake and more.
With the upcoming sunny weather, this walking tour is a great option for those who want to spend some quality time outdoors with loved ones, while also enjoying bites and sips at hidden gems.
Note: Organizers ask that participants arrive 15 minutes before the tour starts to meet the guide inside Waterfront Station. The price varies depending on the day and covers all food and beverages, but not tour guide gratuity.
