Dancing With the Stars, the popular ABC competition show that pairs celebrities with professional dancers in a weekly ballroom competition, has announced that next season, premiering in fall 2012, will be an all-star edition. And Olympic volleyballer Misty May-Treanor wants another shot.

Misty writes on her Facebook page:

Hi everyone so wanted to write to ask you to vote to get me back on Dancing With The Stars. They are having an All Star show this Fall.
    1. I would love to finish what I wasn’t able to when I was on the show the last time
    2. I wasn’t voted off
    3. I would love for my husband to see me dance and compete
    4. I want to perform for my fans!
    Thanks everyone…..

Misty previously competed on Season 7 of DWTS, partnering with Maksim Chmerkovskiy. She had to withdraw from the competition in Week 3 because she ruptured her Achilles tendon in rehearsal.

So far, there is no official fan voting for all-star season. Instead, ABC has set up sections on the official website for Actors/Actresses, Singers, Athletes, Reality Stars, Comedians, Models and Other, where fans can leave comments with their choices. Misty and footballer Hines Ward are receiving a lot of comments in the Athletes section.

And if you’re a big Misty fan, don’t forget – she’ll be going for her third consecutive Olympic gold medal in beach volleyball with partner Kerri Walsh at the 2012 London Summer Olympics, which kick off Friday, July 27 on NBC.
