AMC has released a new Breaking Bad teaser that shows bolder, badder Walter White
Bryan Cranston as Walter White
AMC offered up the first glimpse of Breaking Bad‘s new season during the finale of Mad Men, and it looks like the show isn’t skipping ahead in time after the events of Season 4.
The 15-second spot that aired Sunday (June 10), and which you can watch below, shows Walter White (Bryan Cranston) confronting lawyer Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk) in Saul’s office. Saul tries to tell Walt “We’re done,” but Walt is not having any of it.
“We’re done,” Walt says, inches from Saul’s face, “when I say we’re done.”
The context of their tete-a-tete obviously remains to be seen, but since Walt’s nose is still bandaged, it’s safe to assume that Season 5 will pick up more or less where Season 4 ended. Actor Giancarlo Esposito confirms it, telling The Wrap that the new season begins “right where we left off. Literally, right after Gus’ death.”
Cranston, meanwhile, tells Zap2it the opening of the new season will be more “intellectual” than the gut-punch of last year’s Box Cutter.
Breaking Bad returns to AMC on July 15.
