There were plenty of hits and misses in San Diego during American Idol auditions, but there was a grand slam by single mother Ashley Robles.
Ashley Robles nailed Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You”
The American Idol judges took to the USS Midway in San Diego for the latest audition episode, which aired on a special night Sunday (Jan. 22). One of the gems they discovered in San Diego was Ashley Robles, a single mom who took on Whitney’s “I Will Always Love You” and totally nailed it.
We didn’t think she’d be as good as she was. It’s a tough song, But she threw in some pretty little trills to make it her own. Randy called it “very nice” and wondered where she’s been all this time.
Steven tells her she’s going to be big and she gets a unanimous three yes votes. What did you think, Idol fans? Pretty great, right?
