Bike to the VAG this Sunday for eatART's off-the-grid dance party.
Dance party! Sunday, June 27, 2010, nine teams of four kick their thunder thighs into high gear at eatART Powers the VAG 2010, a fundraiser slash pedal- and solar-powered day of fun in the sun!
Bring a picnic blanket and some snacks (and maybe even some discreetly packed spiked lemonade) and jam out to Vancouver’s favourite electro duo Love & Electrik and DJs Love Dancing, eatART’s Matthew Johnson and Leigh Christie, CPU Club‘s Brad Winter, Dave Knill, Saul Brown and more!

From 1–2 p.m.: Come cheer me on as I contribute my cranks to the effort! I’ll be the one in the short-shorts and cape on the stationary bike generating mega watts to power the sound system!
GET INVOLVED: Support eatART and Mondo Spider
I’m also still accepting pledges so if you have $5, $10, $20 bucks to spare, consider donating to a great organization: eatART is an art laboratory and collective that explores alternative energy through large-scale, kinetic and robotic sculptures like the notorious MONDO SPIDER!

Update, June 24, 2010:
How exciting! The Vancouver Design Nerds have announced they’ll be launching their current art and community engineering project, the Gramorail Project, at Sunday’s eatART fundraiser!
The Gramorail is a gramophone and pedal-powered railway parade to be deployed on Vancouver’s disused railway lines, including the Arbutus Corridor, in conjunction with a public celebration. A portable party!
