Luxury fashion, coveted beauty brands and quality leather goods await you at Want Apothecary
Montreal-based Want Apothecary has opened its first location in Vancouver. Nestled between Diane’s Lingerie and Misch clothing at 2956 South Granville, the newest retailer on the block offers up luxury fashion, coveted beauty brands and its own line of leather goods. The shop opened for a private party on August 7, allowing insiders a sneak peak at their full women’s and men’s lines. Click through the slideshow for your first look inside the store.
The store’s design is loosely inspired by the atmosphere of a 19th century pharmacy, a place where Vancouverites can discover trusted brands for their beauty and fashion needs. To incorporate this theme into the opening, the store’s staff was dressed in stylish lab coats and champagne was served in test tubes.
Brothers Byron and Dexter Peart are the designers behind the award-winning leather goods brand, WANT Les Essentiels de la Vie. You can find an array of leather accessories available in their collection – everything from bags and clutches to sleek leather gloves.
Curated by the Peart brothers, along with business partners Mark Wiltzer and Jacqueline Gelber, Want Apothecary is one of few places in Vancouver to offer its clientele scents by Byredo. This Stockholm-based fragrance line uses the highest quality raw materials available to develop a line of perfume that will make anyone feel special.
WANT Apothecary houses a selection of high quality brands, including Acne Studios, Filippa K, Maison Kitsuné and, of course, WANT Les Essentiels de la Vie.
Near the rear of the store is a beauty wall where a high volume of Aesop products are available. Shampoos, hand creams and face oils are just a fraction of what the store houses. These products are made with an array of essential oils, giving each one a unique and delicious scent.
The store is a preview of fall colours, with muted greys, navy blues, solid blacks and a touch of blush pinks included in the women’s line. Knitted fabric, leather and cotton will be popular in the approaching season.
Men and women can find a complete outfit in WANT Apothecary, as the store houses an array of shoe styles. For women, ankle-length leather boots line the store racks, ready for the fall season.
You can add a little WANT Apothecary to your home as well with the Astier de Villatte candle collection. Housing 30 tantalizing scents, each candle is natural, biodegradable and made with pure ingredients, such as beeswax.
