Heading to this festival with an empty belly and an enthusiasm for food? We've got a few must-try suggestions
Feast Tofino has kicked off and it’s full steam ahead until May 29th. The festival is just the excuse you need to visit this coastal culinary mecca.
The 4th annual Feast Tofino festival is a cool collaboration between talented local and regional guest chefs, restaurants offering set menus priced between $29-$49, hotels offering sweet packaged deals and more.

If you’re looking for a place to stay, it doesn’t get much better than The Wick. If possible, ask for one of the newly renovated deluxe guestrooms in the Pointe Building. The Wick faces Chesterman Beach, which you can see especially well through the window while you kick back in your soaker tub. And the intoxicating sounds of nature will help lull you to sleep. Sounds relaxing, no?
Check out their Feast Tasting Menu and package, offered at The Pointe Restaurant, pictured above. There is exceptional dining to be had in this beautiful room, which includes a copper fireplace and First Nations art.
Friendly owner/commercial fisherman Jeff Mikus serves up what he catches daily, and if you think you’ve had good fish tacos before, you won’t believe what’s on offer here. Seriously, the tacos are game changers.
Imagine a food truck without the wheels and you have the Wildside Grill, which has been featured on the Food Network’s You Gotta Eat Here.
Chef Jesse Blake’s Stripe Shrimp Burger is a foodie’s force to be reckoned with on its own, but for a limited time you can add spot prawn’s to your sandwich if you’re looking to up the ante. For those hoping to have a sit-down meal, outside picnic tables are available.
Chef Matty Kane from Shelter is putting on a seafood spectacle for Feast. Their menu includes dishes like Tempura Spot Prawns and Marinated Asparagus Salad or Cortez Island Mussels and Manilla Clams with Thai Spiced Dungeness Crab Broth. Are you salivating yet?
The Great Room‘s incredible decor – including floor-to-ceiling windows, a beamed ceiling and stone fireplace – will keep your eyes busy while you sip a cocktail (try the Gin-Basil Caesar). After an aperitif, tuck into fresher-than-fresh Dungeness crab, which is fished year-round in these parts.
Chef Ian Riddick is doing some fine things indeed with the Feast special menu, including Outlandish Shellfish, Mussels and Clams Fennel with a Shaved Beet Salad. Can’t make it for the festival? Come back for the opening of the Lodge’s new SandBar Bistro on June 1 – the only beachside dining option in Tofino.
