Nonsensical dreams inspire Vancouver artisan to create whimsical characters from wool.
Children and adults alike are likely to be taken in by Shima Itabashi’s quirky felt creatures, each with individual characters and stories all their own. Each is handcrafted and made from 100 percent wool bought from a local shop in Vancouver.
Needle felting these little creatures has become a work of passion and patience for Shima, who draws much of her inspiration from her dreams and then gets down to creating these one-of-a-kind creatures by hand.
Itabashi lives and works in Vancouver selling most of her Him Creations products at craft shows as well as online at www.himcreations.com.
