Think you have a budding artist in your midst? At 4Cats Art Studio, children between the ages of 2 and 15 years learn to love art and express themselves through colour, clay and silk screens. Classes are centred on a theme—be it painting like Picasso, learning the art of sculpture and clay, or expressing yourself through drawing. Each month a different artist is studied and students learn to work in the medium used by that artist. They also learn the history of art and the artist.
Main Street location owner/curator Racheal Bateman loves to host Pollock Parties. These private parties, for children young and old are a great way to tap into your inner artist. Instructors lead the group in a fun and messy paint-throwing party. Just remember to bring a change of clothes!
Heather Lochner is a stay-at-home mother and a freelance writer. She loves combing the neighbourhoods of Vancouver to find locally owned shops and restaurants. Together with her two children, husband and dog, she lives aboard her sailboat in Vancouver. When not at work or school, the Lochners are out cruising the BC coast.
