RYU

This year we were blessed with not one, but two new department stores when Quebec-based Simons opened up at Park Royal. Shoppers, rejoice! No longer will we need to face hour-long lineups when cross-border shopping. This year, the outlets came to us. Designer outlet, McArthurGlen, opened its first phase with stores such as Banana Republic, CK, and Coach offering deals up to 70 per cent off.

Dior opened its first Canadian flagship store in Vancouver, with interior design inspired by the original Paris Avenue Montaigne store. The two-level boutique is your one-stop shop offering ready-to-wear, accessories, a shoe salon, and even a VIP selling and fitting room.

Vancouver is home to Canada’s first Versace Home store and now home to the country’s second free-standing Versace store. The boutique offers the best of the Italian brand’s accessories: handbags, footwear, eyewear, and jewelry, and timepieces.

It takes one touch to fall in love with Brunello Cucinelli’s ultra-soft cashmere. Their jackets are only partly lined because the brand is so proud of their construction; they don’t want to hide any details. Plus, you’d want to have as much contact to cashmere to stay cozy.
