Highlights from the spring collection of BCFW Generation Next winner Ella Peru.
High in the waist but not short on style, Ella Peru’s interpretation of spring in Vancouver promises a jolt of colour against this city’s grey urban backdrop.
Poised yet casual. These cropped trousers in office friendly tones encourage an airy midday playfulness.
The versatility of a high waist can go from boardroom to the nightclub with an effortless change in top. Paired here with a simple tank, daring necklace and black leather cuff.
Nerd is the new black. Ella Peru’s Su-Hui Chu with two of her girls.
“And the winner is…” A moment of victory caught on tape as Ella Peru designer Su-Hui Chu hears the announcement that she has just won this year’s Generation Next competition.
Generation Next, a collaboration between Fashion High and BC Fashion, Week serves to support and nurture upcoming local talent.
Vancouver designer Su-Hui Chu of label Ella Peru was the lucky winner of this season’s BCFW Generation Next competition.
Su-Hui’s cheeky-geek chic was a hit with the judging panel as well as the crowd who ooh’d and ahh’d at every piece of the collection. Summer holiday shades of coral and cyan played well against the simplicity of her line and added youthful bounce to the sophisticated print pieces.
Some of the prize package Su-Hui can expect to enjoy are a consignment contract at Twigg&Hottie, a free slot on the roster at the next BC Fashion Week, space at both Portobello West Calgary and Vancouver, as well as branding, and tax and photo consulting services.
