They say that love is better the second time around, and when it comes to Preloved’s redesigned vintage clothing, we couldn’t agree more.
For its signature line, tired vintage tees, jeans, sweaters and even bed sheets are cut up and combined with new fabric to create budget-minded staples for men and women. Look for straight skirts, vests, hoodies and flirty frocks. Vintage purists can opt for clothing from the Handcut by Preloved line; every garment is lovingly hand cut from 100 per cent vintage fabrics.
Preloved, conceived by former model Julie Grieve, has been outfitting a worldwide market and clientele – including Kate Hudson, Adrian Brody, Bjork and Feist – since its inception over a decade ago in Toronto. The Vancouver store follows Montreal to be the third Preloved location to showcase the company’s wholly designed-and-made-in-Canada clothing lines, led by company veteran and senior designer Peter Friesen.
Watch for Preloved’s latest line, Beloved, made of bamboo fabric, to be launched in stores this fall. In just one season, Preloved salvaged and breathed new life into 20,000 sweaters, 12,000 T-shirts, 10,000 sweat shirts, 8,000 pairs of jeans and 6,000 trench coats.
