Corset by Vancouver designer Melanie Talkington of Lace Embrace Atelier
Check out the corset made by Vancouver designer Melanie Talkington of Lace Embrace Atelier. Frankly I was surprised by how well it worked. Not only did it create a to-die-for silhouette, it also brought the whole outfit together seamlessly and amped up the elegance factor. The lace top is from Sweet Soul by Vancouver designer Cara Long
Then there’s the never-fail classic: halter LBD with sweetheart neckline by Stop Staring.
It’s that time of year when the excitement of upcoming festivities is mingled with the oft-stressful mad dash to find the perfect party outfits.
It could be fun this season to infuse your holiday get-up with some dramatic flair, retro style. Local fashion boudoir Scout Boutique specializes in vintage-inspired glam and carries a variety of international labels, including Sweet Soul by Vancouver designer Cara Long.
Scout held a fashion/burlesque show in late November to showcase their latest and hottest dresses, and it was a riot watching the models rock the flirty pin-up styles.
Whether you’re a Mad Men fan, a vintage nut or just want to try something different, drop by Scout at 152 E. 8th Ave (at Main) in Vancouver for a shopping experience you won’t get at the mall.
