This new locally made all-natural skincare line is already winning awards and accolades
Get Creamed prides itself on avoiding all the toxic ingredients found in most common beauty products
Get Creamed Body is a luscious new line of all-natural skincare, body and bath products produced locally in Metro Vancouver. And it’s already nominated for beauty awards – an impressive achievement in an industry saturated with hundreds of new products every year, mostly by big-name companies with enormous marketing teams and budgets. Get Creamed might be small by those standards, but it delivers in top-notch, high-quality, can’t-get-enough beauty products.
Get Creamed is an all-Canadian, Metro Vancouver-based company and all of its products are made fresh in small batches to ensure customers receive the freshest products possible – another clear advantage to shopping locally.
And as if you need another reason to love them, Get Creamed doesn’t test any of its lotions and potions on animals. Its products have been tested only on humans and in animal-free laboratories.
You could literally eat this stuff. Just read the ingredient lists. Get Creamed Body’s creative director is an amateur chef and frequent dinner party host, so she knows how potent foods can be for nourishing the body inside-out, and she knows how to creatively combine them in delicious, innovative and intoxicating formulas.
Get Creamed prides itself on avoiding all the toxic ingredients found in most common beauty products, such as phenoxyethanol glycols (PEG, or, anti-freeze), parabens, triclosan, imethicone or other formaldehyde releasers.
It also uses only natural preservatives, natch. Get Creamed has developed a proprietary blend of essential oils, extracts, and other natural bases that help keep its products fresh for about a year (as long as you store them away from sunlight and away from extreme temperatures). Its preservation system has been tested by an independent lab to ensure efficacy.
Get Creamed smells great, feels even better, and is 100% healthy for your skin and hair.
Given its do-good philosophy when it comes to what we put on our skin, Get Creamed also abides by a strong moral code with respect to the environment. It does what iy can to reduce its carbon footprint and contributions to landfills and global warming.
Some of their environmental initiatives include:
Premium Whipped Body Creams
Get Creamed’s signature product just happens to be my favourite: the Premium Whipped Body Creams (225ml, $28). They’re lusciously creamy, perfectly scented and richly moisturizing. I have dry skin and even in the summer (with arms, legs and feet exposed to the elements… and public eyes) I need a heavy-duty moisturizer and this has been fantastic.
I tried “Orange U Smellin’ Good,” which smells like a soft, all-natural Creamsicle. The body butters come in five all-natural scents (including Killa Vanilla, Pink Citrus Paradise, Coconut Cream Pie and unscented). No perfumes, dyes, or synthetic chemicals are used.
Detoxifying Spa Body Scrub and Bath Soak
Another stellar product is the double-duty Detoxifying Spa Body Scrub and Bath soak with Dead Sea Salts and Antioxidants (225ml, $26). Use it as a regular salt scrub to slough off all the rough patches, or add some to your bath for a detoxifying soak. Comes in three wonderfully relaxing, all-natural scents.
Body Balm
Clearly, I love multitasking products and Get Creamed’s body balm, “This is the Balm,” ($22) will take care of everything from your parched tootsies to your frizzy mane. Made with nourishing shea butter and cocoa butter, your skin and hair will practically sigh with relief as you soothe them with this balm. It’s so fantastic, it was nominated for Chatelaine magazine’s 2011 Beauty 100 Star Product Awards.
Other current products in its collection include cocoa butter bath chocolates, lip balms, premium shampoo and conditioner (made without SLS, sulfates, parabens, phthlates, dyes, or perfumes), brightening eye cream and more.
