The Dr. Seuss-themed awards honoured the province's best and brightest
The 33rd Georgie Awards black tie gala was held on March 22 at Vancouver’s Hyatt Regency in front of a sold-out crowd of 600-plus guests decked out in their finest. The event was hosted by the Canadian Home Builders’ Association of B.C. (CHBA BC), and the ballroom was festooned in the fantastical world of Dr. Seuss.
The evening was filled with amazing cuisine, great prizes, live entertainment by Destineak and Stimulating Emissions and a Dr. Seuss themed after-party and casino. During dinner, the crowd was entertained by co-host Kevin Lim, who kept the crowd in stitches as he gave out cash prizes.
Thrilled with the turnout, Neil Moody, CEO of the CHBA BC, said:
“The 2025 Georgie Awards winners continue to set a new benchmark for home-building excellence in our industry. Despite economic and regulatory challenges, these builders, renovators and designers have demonstrated resilience and ingenuity, delivering projects that elevate B.C.’s residential landscape. Their achievements highlight CHBA BC members’ commitment to quality and innovation, which defines our industry.”
With emcee Todd Talbot of HGTV’s Love it or List it, the awards party applauded winners in 53 categories across six key focus areas: Residential Construction—New; Residential Construction–Renovation; Interior Design, Merchandising and Landscaping; Sales and Marketing; Special Achievement Awards and the prestigious Grand Georgie Awards.
We’ve put together a list of some of the top project winners, as well as some affordable bathroom refresh advice from Ashley de Boer Interiors, who won for Best Interior Design Custom Residence–New or Renovation for the North Vancouver home pictured above.
Paint (that’s it). Either the walls, the vanity or both. A fresh coat of paint is a great way to bring some life into any dated space. It feels fresh, clean and is the perfect foundation to build on if you’re wanting to make other updates down the road.
Swap out lighting. There are many great-looking and affordable light fixtures out there. Upgrading light fixtures to something more contemporary or something that you really love instantly changes the feel of the space.
Update your hardware and finishes. Sometimes all it takes is switching out your faucet, getting new towel bars/robe hooks or cabinet hardware to make your space feel new again.
Upgrade your accessories. Upgrading your bath mat, soap dispenser and towels is such a simple but great way of refreshing your space.
Now, on to the award winners:
Miracon walked away with two coveted wins: Best Residential Community of the Year and Multi-Family Home Builder of the Year (second year in a row), for Mirada Estates.
“Mirada Estates is a truly special community—set against the backdrop of a stunning 5-acre landscaped detention pond, it offers a rare blend of natural beauty, thoughtful design, and refined architecture that sets it apart,” said Ryan O’Shea, president of Miracon. “These awards are a testament to the unwavering dedication of our exceptional team at Miracon and the outstanding work of our trades, vendors and suppliers who share our commitment to quality and innovation.”
Delta’s Century Group earned two prestigious awards for the master-planned community of Southlands in Tsawwassen, a unique farm-to-table inspired community: Best Single-Family Home Production (for the Ridge Lane), and Best Advertising Campaign.
“Achieving a Georgie Award for Ridge Lane Cottages validates the massive work that went into designing every detail in these homes to create a high standard of what people should expect in a production build,” said Sean Hodgins, president of Century Group.
LIDA Construction won Best Multi-Family Townhouse Development for Murray’s Pond in the seaside community of Royal Bay, Colwood, Vancouver Island. Winning the Georgie Award is a significant honour for LIDA Construction.
“It recognizes our dedication to quality craftsmanship, innovative design, and community-focused development,” said Mika Nishimura, interior designer and project coordinator. “It also reinforces our commitment to sustainable, efficient and well-planned multi-family developments that enhance communities.”
Diamond Head Development are beyond thrilled to have won both Best Environmental Initiative and Best Energy Labelled Home in Production for Finch Drive in Squamish.
“It’s an honour to be recognized for our commitment to sustainable building practices,” said Jenna Bowerman, sales and marketing manager for Diamond Head Development. “Our duplexes and townhomes at Finch Drive are crafted with exceptional detail and quality, built to Step Code 5, feature solar panels making the home entirely Net Zero and are powered by geothermal heating and cooling.”
Vineyard Development was honoured to receive the Best Multi-Family Low Rise Development award for its Kelowna project, 450 Parc.
“It’s always nice to be recognized by your peers for the tremendous amount of love and energy that was poured into 450 Parc,” said Craig Mohr, owner of Vineyard Developments. “I feel the biggest win comes from the amount of value and strong sense of community all our 450 Parc clients feel we have created through its unique design.”
Apcon Group earned both Best Multi-Family Townhouse Production and Best Multi-Family Kitchen for Headwater. “Apcon is truly humbled and happy to win two Georgie Awards this year,” said Tejvir Atwal, managing director at Apcon Group. “These awards are a reflection of the entire Apcon team’s passion, dedication and hard work.
