Warm up winter with bright floral hues

When the days turn cold, look for rich hues and bright greens to warm things up.

The burgundy foliage and flowers on Hylotelephium ‘Garnet Brocade’ will turn into seedheads through fall. Leave them throughout winter and snip in the spring.

The petunia-like Calibrachoa ‘Superbells® Apricot Punch’ provides summer and fall fun and will plump out the arrangement while the perennials grow.

Place Acorus gramineus ‘Ogon’ in the back to give height to this display. Its light-yellow, sword-like blades add wonderful contrast.

Round out the container with golden-yellow, needle-shaped foliage of Sedum rupestre ‘Angelina’ for a distinctly holidayish vibe.

Except for annual ‘Superbells’, these plants are hardy to zone 5 and provide a stunning winter show.
