Variegated Moor Grass in a Container

This container demonstrates the simple elegance and drama possible by highlighting one plant. Place in a sunny location and enjoy watching the sunset illuminate the dancing wands.

Molinia caerulea subsp. caerulea ‘Variegata’ (common name: variegated moor grass; 60 x 90 cm/24 in. x 36 in.; purplish flowers on golden stems; blooms late summer; zone 4)

Care: This container will last for two or three years. Cut back faded foliage in fall and tuck the container in a protected area, watering only when dry throughout the winter. Place it in a bright location in April and top-dress with a controlled-release fertilizer; water regularly as needed.
