I sowed 8 seeds per punnet, 1” deep and 1” apart, hoping that at least 6 germinate. At 6” tall, the roots will be established enough to allow me to peel out a block of pea seedlings.
I harden punnets off for a week before transplanting the peas outdoors.
After hoeing a shallow furrow in the garden these blocks can be planted end to end along the row without thinning and disturbing the roots.
It only takes 5 minutes to plant a row of happy peas, and it takes no time at all for the peas to climb their supports, as they are already up and running!
