Best grown in larger containers, the rhizomes can be lifted or the containers brought indoors to frost-free temperatures of 10-16c.

Cut back the foliage and keep the soil dry during this dormant stage. If you lift the rhizome, handle it as you would a dahlia tuber and store it in a dry medium such as peat after curing it for a few days outside.
