Sharon Hanna turns an old wooden wine box into an interesting container to grow lettuce.

These are a lettuce blend from Two Wings Farms (on the island), sown February 25 in a wooden wine box in about 3.5 inches of soil. Started in a cool greenhouse. They look very nice!
Wine boxes are sometimes sold—sometimes given away—from wine stores, both private and LDB. Growing lettuce this way is both aesthetically pleasing and a good way to use the box!
