By mid June the apple-bough fence is almost covered by roses – ‘Henry Kelsey’ and ‘Harrison’s Yellow’ flourish.
Now a favourite haunt of both locals and visitors to the area, Elysium Garden and Nursery opened in spring 1999 with the mandate to showcase and sell the broad spectrum of perennial plants that could be grown successfully in a zone 5 semi-arid garden.
The three-acre site includes shade, herb, xeriscape, kitchen and cut-flower gardens. In 2003 the Japanese-inspired garden, “Hi Sho En,” was completed.
Surrounded by unobstructed mountain views and pastoral countryside, the garden at 2834 Belgo Road is a 10-minute drive from central Kelowna.
