Plan now for a flowery surprise in the spring with your children this fall


This fall, buy as many differently coloured packages of crocus as you have children. Show them how to plant them, then provide each child with their own package.

One at a time, let them go into the garden to plant bulbs in their own secret spots. Then get ready for the surprise spring show! Keep each package with the child’s name on them, so they remember their colour.

To add to the fun, include some hyacinth bulbs in the mix, cutting one open to show the children the fully-formed baby flower inside just waiting to emerge next spring.
