Seasonless pastels, complex greys and hits of metallic are big this fall season
Cool greys like Sea Haze by Benjamin Moore are contemporary and mix well with weathered woods and industrial design, says Benjamin Moore colour spokesperson Sharon Grech. The paint pictured here has a matte finish, but pairs well with metallic accessories, another popular trend. For the daring, add a pumpkin feature wall or accessories for an extra kick.
This bolder neutral puts emphasis on the room’s central feature, the fireplace, without taking over the room. Here, seasonal purple and green throw pillows play well off this deeper tone.
Gold is resurfacing in the form of metallic furniture and accessories. CIL’s Sapling pulls from this vibrant hue with its rich, sunny overtone. Pair with light or dark grey paint or furnishings for a sophisticated look.
Pale shades were once relegated to the spring and summer, but now we’re are seeing “seasonless pastels” like Gray Cashmere by Benjamin Moore. Extending lighter shades into fall corresponds to what has been happening in fashion over the past several seasons. Think of it as the new winter white for your walls.
This tan colour is an alternative to boring beige. The baseboard trim is painted Chateau by Benjamin Moore. This cool stone colour contrasts against the warm neutral on the walls. “Mixing cool and warm is a big trend this season,” says Grech. “It makes the neutral story more interesting.”
