Your entryway is a great place to add a little personality to your home.
How to Decorate Your Entryway Q:
My entryway is pretty lacklustre. Any tips on sprucing it up?
Entryways can be overlooked as nothing more than a pass through to other rooms in your home. It’s a forgotten opportunity to bring some life to a space and sets the design tone for the rest of your house. Whether you have a large space or a small space, a bench or chair is a good idea. You also want to consider a table to lay keys or mail down when you come in. This can be a great spot to add a little personality. I love bringing in a lamp for ambience, but if you don’t have the space or electrical option, then candles work as well. I love hurricane lanterns because they are so versatile. You can create a little vignette using books or decorative boxes as well as a couple of treasured items. Let’s also not forget about having a mirror to check yourself in before leaving the house. And lastly, use a tray to corral all of your loose change and keys. You can add decorative touches like fresh flowers or branches depending on the season. A throw blanket hung over the chair or bench as well as a pretty area rug will add extra interest.
