This Macaron Day (Sunday, March 20th), Mon Paris will be donating 50 percent of all macaron sales to help feed Ukrainian families
With both Ukrainian and Russian heritage, Elena Krasnova, owner and pastry chef of Mon Paris Pâtisserie has a deeply personal connection to the the current crisis in Ukraine. And in an effort to help, the Burnaby bakery will be donating 50 percent of all macaron sales to World Central Kitchen, on organization that is dedicated to working on the front line feeding people warm and nutritious meals.
World Central Kitchen has already served more than one million fresh meals to families across Ukraine, Poland, Romania, Moldova and Hungary. Founded by chef José Andrés, the charity works with established restaurants on the ground and hires local staff. They are the first to the front lines, providing meals in response to humanitarian, climate and community crises.
So, this Sunday, head to Mon Paris Pâtisserie and purchase a selection of macarons, including the limited edition Sakura Strawberry flavour. Buy them individually ($2 each), select a box of six ($12), or pick up a box of 12 ($24), and know that 50 percent of what you pay will be helping those in need.
Mon Paris Pâtisserie (4396 Beresford Street, Burnaby) is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Macaron Day, Sunday, March 20th
