This Thursday, October 1, 2009, taste the fruits of our region at RIPE: The 1st annual evening of local food and libations, presented by Vancouver Farmers Markets.
The fundraising event will feature an incredible spread of mouth-watering concoctions made from locally sourced, seasonal ingredients, accompanied by local beer and wine, various speakers and music by Fiddlestix and Grist to the Mill.
The goal is to raise enough cash to support initiatives by the Vancouver Farmers Market such as the Farmers Nest Egg Fund, which supports vendor-farmers and the network of local farmers who make Vancouver Farmers Markets so successful, and the New City Market, a state-of the-art, sustainable, LEED-certified, multi-function venue to house a winter/year-round farmers market and resource facility.
