We asked some popular Vancouverites to choose who they love to follow on Instagram

Instagram is our social network of choice – visuals that inspire, encourage and entertain. Here, a few familiar faces share the Vancouver-based accounts they love to view on the popular app. Log on and search for more fascinating folks to follow.



Monika Hibbs, Fashion expert and blogger

“I would have to pick @partyskirts. I love it because it’s always fun, fresh and motivating! With well-styled shoots, good photos and, obviously, a great skirt behind the brand.”



Karen Khunkhun, Radio personality (99.3 The Fox FM)

“I love the David Suzuki Foundation Instagram account (@davidsuzukifdn) because of the bright, beautiful pics that shout ‘Canadiana.’ You should definitely consider a follow if you enjoy being inspired and love a little nostalgia.”



Tamara Stanners, Radio personality (102.7 The Peak FM)

“Instagram is the first and last social network I check each day. I am not an artistic person but I sure appreciate people who are. My must-follow is @tamarataggart. And, no, it’s not because we share the same name. Tamara’s instagram account is really well-balanced, with beautiful shots of her gorgeous children, home decor and words of inspiration. I just have one question: Tamara, how do you keep all the white in your home clean with three little cuties around?”

“My Instagram favorite at the moment is @banksy, the famous graffiti artist. Now, I know he might not count as a ‘Vancouverite’ but how do we know that if no one actually knows his identity? I appreciate his art because of its political nature and think he’s pretty spot on a lot of the time. My other favourite account is my friend Crystal’s: @taintedeye. Her photos are mostly of her French bulldog Carlos, but he’s an awesome little dude and makes me smile on a regular basis. I like following the little guy’s adventures. I won’t follow people who post a lot of food pics but dog pics? You’re golden!“

“I’m into accounts like @western_front, @famewhore and @thisopenspace. Each is an idea playground really: an artist-run centre for contemporary art and music; a visionary, creative pop-up space. I’m proud to call a few of them friends but, more importantly, they remind us that there exists – in Vancouver – a super-cool community of trailblazers who broaden this town immensely. Frothy latté photos?  Not my thing.”

She showcases interesting little corners of Vancouver with personality and flair. It’s a nice little slice of life.”

“The Vancouverite we love to follow on Instagram is Tristan Risk (@littlemissrisk). She is a good friend of ours yet, even then, we can’t keep up. World traveller, horror-darling-starlet, comic book aficionado and ravishing burlesque dancer. Literally, almost anything can pop up on her feed and you’re guaranteed to see something awesome. I personally dig the behind the scenes candid peeks at her film work. Her resume is growing daily.”

When this up-and-coming artist isn’t sharing shots of her soulful, breathtakingly beautiful culinary adventures here in Vancouver, she’s travelling the world – mainly Paris – and inspiring me to travel with her jaw-dropping pictures of tantalizing foreign dishes, romantic scenery and super-stylish restaurant decor. You can’t not love her.”

“My favourite Instagram account is @sararogersphotography. Sara is a really good friend of mine. She takes the most gorgeous shots of people, lifestyle and love. She really captures the beauty of whatever is in front of her lens.”

“@joordanrenee. Jordan can take an ordinary scene and turn it into something extraordinary.  Her Instagram feed is a dreamland that I’d like to permanently live in.”
