We've rounded up the best new menus in the city so you can get your brunch on in all new ways
Looking for a brunch experience you won’t find anywhere else? Head to Calabash Bistro, where you can now enjoy Caribbean cuisine in the morning. That means offerings like the Escovitch Fish, a pan-seared dish with fried plantains (so good!), and Salara French Toast with spiced mango maple syrup, banana cream and fresh fruit. Looking for a little hair of the dog? Try brunch-themed cocktails like Calabash’s Dark & Stormy, with ginger-infused rum, house-made ginger beer and more.
This southern-influenced brunch menu will stick to your ribs in the best way possible. Mamie Taylor’s is launching a brand new brunch menu filled with Down South delicacies like the Kentucky Hot Brown, a house-smoked confit turkey, tomato, crisp bacon breakfast sandwich with a creamy Mornay sauce, as well as Eggs and Grits (pictured), Chicken Fried Steak and more. Stomach still grumbling? We highly recommend the Freedom Toast, which swaps out traditional brioche with Mamie Taylor’s buttermilk biscuit, topped with candied pecans, fruit compote and buttermilk ricotta. This is true comfort food.
Want to get away, if only for a few hours? Check out MARKET‘s new brunch service this summer, which offers atmosphere similar to what you’d expect in Vegas or L.A. There will be champagne, cocktails and thumping music provided by a live DJ. We fully support any brunch menu that offers up a trolley to custom craft your ceasar (add more shrimp!) and couldn’t recommend the Korean Deep Fried Chicken and Pandan Waffles with Coconut Cream and Caramelized Onions more. This is brunch done luxe.
Throw a brunch party, al fresco, on the Reflections patio. For the first time ever, Reflections will be hosting private brunch parties, where the fare will be as appealing as the scenery. That means fresh fruit, decadent pastries and a RAW bar smoothie and juice station that dishes out refreshing beverages. A warm food station means tasty eats like the spicy chorizo, red pepper and caramelized onion frittata wrap will be available if you’re feeling particularly peckish. The program is available any day until 10:30 a.m. If you’re ready to throw a seriously impressive breakfast party, call Reflections at 604-673-7043.
Add a little luxe to your brunch with the new menu at West Oak, where options like Mimosas, Dungeness Crab and Lobster Salad Sandwiches are the norm. Created by executive chef Tim Cuff, the diverse menu has an array of delicious options (check the hearty Beef Short Rib Hash if you’re looking to replenish after a night of partying). And on sunny mornings, eat and drink in the comfort of their Yaletown patio. A must-try for brunch fans… so pretty much everyone.
