Skip the stress of a formal dinner party and host an elegant cocktail soiree (no one will even miss the main course)

Tip #1: Go local year-round

Frozen berries are perfect in cocktails and in baking, so bag and freeze blueberries, raspberries and blackberries when they’re in season.

Tip #2: Customize your own charcuterie platter

Draw inspiration from your party’s colour palette and select your favourite meats, cheeses and olives instead of just going with a prepared deli tray.

Tip #3: Don’t feel you have to make everything from scratch

Keep a flatbread in the freezer and throw it in the oven when you’re expecting guests. Top with greens for the fresh factor.
