Location: Nelson, British Columbia
The details: $200 per night plus fees; sleeps two
The amenities: Imagine cozying up in a warm outdoor sauna during a cold snowy winter. The Moosu Guest House offers a private outdoor spa with a barrel sauna and a saltwater cedar hot tub, complete with Turkish towels and linen robes. The entire cabin and spa area is fenced off, providing an intimate experience for visitors.
As you enter the main cabin, you’ll find a cozy fireplace facing the couch. While it’s small, it provides a retro feel and is definitely adequate for two people. You’ll also find an open kitchen with all the essentials—from a coffeemaker to cookware. Past the kitchen is the bathroom, which has a spa shower with a skylight over top of it. At the other end of the cabin sits the bedroom that includes a queen-sized bed and a large floor-to-ceiling window, which is great for stargazing as you drift off to dreamland.
Activities in the area: With the Moosu Guest House located just minutes from local beaches, trails and mountain peaks, you’ll have plenty of options for outdoor activities. The Morning Mountain Regional Park is nearby, where you can cycle, hike, snowshoe and toboggan. An ice-skating rink is also accessible at the park during winter months depending on the weather conditions. If you prefer staying in, it’s never a bad idea to cozy up in the cabin and enjoy complimentary Netflix on the 32-inch HDTV!
