Parker Building Sample Sale – Nov. 28-30

East Vancouver’s Parker Building is a fashionista’s dream come true. Fishermen Helping Kids With Cancer – Nov. 30

Fishermen Helping Kids with Cancer is holding their 3rd annual charity herring sale in Steveston this weekend. The sale is open to the public, with all of the proceeds going towards the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation. With live music and free recipes, the event offers more than a chance to stock up your freezer for the winter.

Christmas on The Drive – Nov. 30

The 2nd Annual Christmas on the Drive returns to Commerical for a day full of holiday fun. Activities include: carolling, visits with Santa, horse and carriage rides, gingerbread decorating, tree lighting, photo booths, beverages and baked goods, and more. There’s no doubt this community event will get you and your family in the Christmas spirit. Admission is by donation, with all proceeds benefitting The Kettle Friendship Society.

Canyon Lights – Nov. 30 to Jan. 4

Canyon Lights returns to the Capilano Suspension Bridge this holiday season. The annual display begins November 30th as the suspension bridge, CLIFFWALK and park grounds are all decorated for the holidays. Take a walk across the Capilano River at night, and let these festive lights enhance the natural beauty. A free round-trip shuttle service will be available from Canada Place.

Christmas with the Bach Choir – Dec. 1

Sit back, relax and enjoy heartwarming classics at this year’s Christmas with the Bach Choir. Led by music directors Leslie Dala and Marisa Gaetenne, a choir of 400 will perform timeless carols and newer renditions accompanied by a brass quintet. This concert combines all of the Vancouver Bach Choirs in one holiday showcase, including the Adult Choir, Children’s Chorus, Youth Choir and Sarabande.

Stuart McLean & The Vinyl Cafe – Dec. 1

Canada’s favourite storyteller, Stuart McLean, comes to Vancouver with his hit show The Vinyl Cafe. The CBC personality will participate in Vancouver’s 2013 Christmas Concert alongside the Juno Award-winning trio, The Good Lovelies. Stuart, who has sold over 1 million books in Canada, will take the stage at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre for two shows. Tickets are available online.

Rogers Santa Claus Parade – Dec. 1

Santa will be hitting the streets of Vancouver this Sunday for the 10th Annual Rogers Santa Claus Parade. The Parade begins at the corner of Georgia and Broughton, just blocks from the City Centre SkyTrain station. It wraps through the downtown core to finish at Howe and Davie. The parade relies on over 300 volunteers and expects a turnout of more than 300,000 spectators. Find out how you can become involved as a participant, volunteer, sponsor, or VIP.

CBC Open House & Food Bank Day – Dec. 6

For the 27th straight year, CBC Radio-Canada will be hosting their British Columbia Food Bank Day. The CBC Broadcast Centre in downtown Vancouver will open its doors at 5:30 am (news doesn’t sleep!) for newsroom tours and the chance to meet your favourite CBC personalities. This year’s Open House will include a special Canada Lives Here movie, photos with Santa and a sneak peek into the CBC Canada House for the Sochi 2014 Olympics. The event, which has raised millions of dollars over the years, encourages Food Bank donations.
