1. Teahouse 40th Anniversary Menu – Until Monday, December 10

Celebrating 40 years of the Teahouse at Stanley Park, a special anniversary menu features classic dishes from the original menu such as stuffed mushrooms, steak au poivre and baked Alaska. Priced at $40, the three-course offering showcases favourite dishes from the restaurant’s four decades of service.

2. Glow Langley – Thursday, November 22 until Saturday, January 19, 2019

Celebrate the holidays in a heated indoor winter wonderland in Langley, where the theme is the Warmth of the Season. Stroll under the twinkle of a million lights at Glow, the largest indoor Christmas festival in Greater Vancouver. Kids can enjoy the playgrounds and interactive features, while the adults kick back at the licensed bar and enjoy live music. Take selfies at the illuminated sculptures, meet Santa, explore the Christmas market and eat delicious food truck treats.

3. Emily Carr Student Sale – Friday, November 23 to Sunday, November 25

Support emerging artists and find unique gifts at the Emily Carr Student Sale. Choose from original paintings, drawings, ceramics and sculptures, along with photographs, prints, wearable works, housewares and greeting cards.

4. Doubt: A Parable – Friday, November 23 to Friday, December 14

In this powerful Tony- and Pulitzer-winning drama, Sister Aloysius, a Bronx school principal, takes matters into her own hands when she suspects the young Father Flynn of improper relations with one of the male students.

5. Sea of Lights – Friday, November 23 to Sunday, January 6

Swim in a sea of lights at Vancouver Aquarium’s festive feature, which includes a new immersive experience of bubbles, lights and sounds. Check out the daily Scuba Claus dives (until December 24th), the holiday tree powered by an electric eel, a luminous jelly snow globe, as well as screenings of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer: A 4-D Experience.

6. CandyTown – Saturday, November 24

Yaletown becomes a winter wonderland when the Yaletown Business Improvement Association transforms the neighbourhood into CandyTown, which features Christmas crafts and gifts, life-size Santa sleigh ice carving, dancing gingerbread, live music, roving musicians and costumed characters. The free festival also features a public disco (with glitter station) and Aunt Leah’s Christmas Tree Lot pop-up. Fuel up at food trucks before exploring the self-guided cocktail tour (for those 19 and over) or enjoying a horse-drawn carriage ride.

7. Surrey Tree Lighting Festival – Saturday, November 24

Celebrate the start of the season at the Surrey Tree Lighting Festival, which includes a holiday market, mini Christmas train, holiday fun zone, photos with Santa and fun crafts (including a build-your-own-gingerbread station.)

8. Lights at Lafarge – Saturday, November 24 until Sunday, January 20

Dazzling displays illuminate the banks of Lafarge Lake in Coquitlam with a 1.2 kilometre loop of sparkling lights. Saturday, November 24 sees the kick-off event take place with two stages of live music, food trucks, roving entertainers and family-friendly crafts. Dress warm as it’s an outdoor event.

9. East Van Panto: Wizard of Oz – Wednesday, November 28 to Sunday, January 6

Get in the seasonal spirit at the fun East Van Panto. When a pipeline bursts, Dorothy and Toto are flung to the magical land of… Nanaimo and Hastings. 10. Portobello West Holiday Market – Friday, November 30 to Sunday, December 2

Pick up unique presents at the Portobello West Holiday Market, which is now in its new home in Yaletown Roundhouse Community Centre. Shop for gifts from B.C.’s best local artisans, producers and artists, with more than 70 vendors present at this holiday fair.
