2. Big Fun — Wednesday, November 20 to Sunday, November 24

Curated by local comedy leaders Cameron MacLeod, Jaik Puppyteeth and Sean Devlin, Big Fun is a new week-long festival of comedy, music, art, and food that hosts more than 15 events across 10 venues in the city. Performances include world class headliners Trixie Mattel of RuPaul’s Drag Race, Eugene Mirman of Bob’s Burgers, Jena Friedman of Adult Swim, Zack Fox, Dirty Bird Records boss Claude VonStroke mixed with the best underground Vancouver comedy and cult nights.

4. Eagle Watching — Saturday, November 23

Join Parks Canada and Active Days on a trip from Vancouver to Squamish to see the majestic eagles of Brackendale. Volunteers from the Eagle Watch program will take the group through a presentation before heading to Eagle Run Dyke by the river to see the birds in their natural habitat.

7. Cosmic Nights: Dark Energy — Thursday, November 28

Grab a friend and head to the space centre for Cosmic Nights – Dark Energy. Explore the mysteries of the dark energy that is said to permeate all of space and accelerate the expansion of the universe. Learn more about current missions and hot topics in astronomy and space exploration in this fun evening of science and socializing. 8. Graham Clark’s 24 Hours of Stand Up — Friday, November 29 to Saturday, November 30

Vancouver’s sweetheart comedian Graham Clark will do the impossible this November. From 8 p.m. on Friday the veteran comedian will launch into a 24-hour set with only a few bathroom breaks. After the first hour the comedian will then look for inspiration from his talented team of comedians sitting in the front row feverishly writing jokes for him to read, riff and rate.

9. TOQUE Craft Fair — Friday, November 29 to Sunday, December 1

TOQUE is Western Front’s annual fundraiser and craft fair. Held every December in the Luxe Hall at Western Front, the event features a curated selection of talented BC-based artists, designers and artisans. Proceeds from TOQUE support the year-round art and music programs at Western Front.
