1. Chutzpah! Festival — Until Monday, March 15

Check out Canadian and international premieres from talented dancers, musicians, comedians and theatrical artists from across the globe, all coming to Vancouver for a month of special performances. CODCO and This Hour Has 22 Minutes alum Mary Walsh appears on Tuesday, March 6th.

2. Form to Feast – Korean Bo Ssam — Saturday, March 3

Combine a ceramics and food workshop and learn how to make beautiful ceramic pieces before enjoying a traditional Korean meal called Bo Ssam in the very wares you have created over the course. Bo Ssam is a fresh wrap, made with leafy green, a choice of pork or tofu and served with banchan, or small side dishes. (Event also held on Saturday, March 10 and Saturday, March 17.)

3. TEDx Stanley Park— Saturday, March 3

Listen to 12 inspirational short talks that offer novel solutions—”ideas worth spreading”—to a diverse range of humanity’s tough challenges at the annual TEDx Stanley Park conference, which is an independently organized TED event.

4. Weird Al Karaoke — Saturday, March 3

Local comedians sing their satirical little hearts out at Weird Al Karaoke. Back at Little Mountain Gallery for another season, the evening will be hosted by Brent Constantine and an evil owl puppet (“Weird Owl”) and includes amateur parody songs but no actual Weird Al.

5. The 90th Annual Academy Awards — Sunday, March 4

Put on your party dress and head to The Rio for a free Academy Awards viewing party at the recently “saved” space. It’s first come, first served so get there early to save your spot to enjoy all the red carpet action at the 90th annual Oscars, which will be hosted again by Jimmy Kimmel.

6. Reggae Yoga — Monday, March 5

Sound Salutations will be running an evening of reggae yoga to raise funds for Alpha Boys School in Jamaica. Bring your own mat and some good irie for a night of reggae beats and chilled-out yoga at Fortune Sound Club.

7. Vancouver International Women in Film — Tuesday, March 6 to Sunday, March 11

Celebrate female screen stars at this women-focused film festival, which showcases short and feature-length movies from around the world and also includes panel discussions, workshops and artist talks.

8. 3… 2… 1… Craft Beer Launch Party — Wednesday, March 7

Come and #drinkforacause at Craft Beer Market’s launch party to celebrate 42 new beers being added to the menu. Proceeds go to the YMCA Annual Campaign and there will be live beats, light eats and complimentary beer samplings.

9. Goldberg Variations – Angela Hewitt — Wednesday, March 7

Grammy Award winner Angela Hewitt has captivated listeners around the world with her dazzling piano skills. Hewitt will perform on a modern Fazioli grand piano as part of Early Music Vancouver’s Goldberg Experience series, in which artists from various traditions interpret the Variations, using their unique perspectives and instruments.

10. Lorde: Melodrama World Tour — Thursday, March 8
