1. Sofar Sounds — Various — CANCELLED

Sign up for secret gigs and concerts at a variety of residential and converted commercial spaces around the city. Tickets are released for small intimate gigs – you’ll know the neighbourhood but you won’t know the exact location until the day before.

2. Inheritance — Until Sunday, March 15

Alley Theatre presents Inheritance: a choose-your-adventure experience. Set on a vast, rural estate, urban couple Abbey and Noah are on a week-long getaway to visit her father. When they arrive, they find him missing and a local Indigenous man, Frank, staying there instead. When it’s revealed that the colonial property rights to this unceded land are up for grabs, the audience—with anonymous voting devices in hand—decides what happens next.

3. Trans Scripts, Part I: The Women — Until Saturday, March 21

This critically acclaimed play is a powerful work of verbatim theatre that was compiled from more than 70 interviews with transgender women. The upcoming performance features seven diverse transgender women from Vancouver — activists, politicians, artists, and even a YouTube star. The timely work is a real-life look at the everyday moments that make individuals unique, and underscores our shared human spirit.

4. PI Day at The Pie Hole — Saturday, March 14

The Pie Hole will be celebrating PI Day on March 14 (3.14) with $3.14 off all 9″ pies (ordered through the website until March 15 with code PIDAY2020) and $3.14 off 4″ pies in the shop on March 14 at all three locations until supplies last… they sold out early last year, so get there quick.

5. Monster Jam — Saturday, March 14 & Sunday, March 15 — RESCHEDULED

In accordance with the restrictions on travel and group gatherings amid COVID-19 concerns, the upcoming Monster Jam events scheduled for this Saturday March 14 and Sunday March 15, 2020 at the Pacific Coliseum (PNE) in Vancouver, BC will be rescheduled for a later date.

Monster Jam is the big leagues of motorsports competition, where 12,000-pound trucks and the world-class athletes who drive them tear up the dirt with gravity-defying feats. Engineered to perfection, the legendary Grave Digger®, Max-D™, El Toro Loco® and many more push all limits in Freestyle, 2 Wheel Skills Challenge™ and Racing competitions.  At the Monster Jam® Pit Party, you can see the massive trucks up close, meet your favourite drivers, get autographs, take pictures, and enjoy other family-friendly activities.

6. Hip Hop Trivia Night — Tuesday, March 17

Whether you’re a Biggie or a Tupac fan, all Eyez are on Juke Fried Chicken when the Chinatown location of the chicken-and-rib joint hosts Hip Hop Trivia Night on the third Tuesday of every month at 7 p.m. Teams of up to six are invited to take part in five rounds of questions on all things Hova, Dre and Wu-Tang with food and drink specials and prizes up for grabs. 10. Ever So Slightly — Friday, March 20 & Saturday, March 21 – CANCELLED

Presented by DanceHouse, Ever So Slightly is from Montreal’s RUBBERBAND Dance Company, and is an electrifying meditation on what it looks like to escape from life’s daily grind; to rebel against those daily aggressions that build up over time and constrain our lives, relationships, and even ourselves. This is the company’s first major work to feature its entire 10-member company of artists, with high-voltage choreography  accompanied by a live electronic soundscape from accomplished composer and DJ Jasper Gahunia and award-winning violinist William Lamoureux.
