Vancouver Giants Super Bowl Party – January 31

Do you love football? Do you love hockey? If the answer is yes to both, then the Vancouver Giants Super Bowl Party is the place to be. Watch the Giants take on the Kamloops Blazers while enjoying football-themed family fun. They’ll be giving away some awesome prizes to lucky fans, like a comfy recliner for you to watch the big game in, and autographed Marshawn Lynch and Russell Wilson Seattle Seahawks jerseys. When sports collide, awesome things happen.

Tea Gastronomy Experience – January 31

Move over, wine! The latest in drinking fads can be seen at Dine Out Vancouver’s Tea Gastronomy Experience. Guests can choose from an eight- or five-course meal, with each dish paired with a TWG tea. The night will begin with a tea-infused cocktail before moving on to delicious dishes like tea-infused crusted rack of lamb paired with Earl Grey Pu-erh Tea, or tea-infused ling cod paired with “Weekend in Moscow Tea”. 

Secret Supper Soiree – January 31

Throwback to the dirty ’30s with another Dine Out Vancouver event, a Secret Supper Soiree. Participants will board a double decker and be taken to two different locations for a bite of some of Vancouver’s tastiest secrets. The soiree is speakeasy themed and participants are invited to go all-out on their ’30s-style attire. You can get tickets online and they include a cocktail, wine tastings, canapés, dinner, and an unforgettable evening. 

ArtStarts Weekend Workshop with Vazzy – January 31 and February 1

ArtStarts Weekend Workshops are free, fun, family friendly, and perfect for your own tiny artist. This weekend, French Canadian musician Vazzy will be breaking out acoustic musical instruments and leading an interactive workshop. The event will be filled with music, storytelling, and merry-making that’s sure to enthrall kids. They’ll be at the Vancouver ArtStarts Gallery on January 31 and at the New Westminster Quay on February 1. 

F as in Frank Fill-A-Bag Day – January 31

Grab some stylish new clothes without breaking the bank at Main Street’s F as in Frank’s Fill-A-Bag Day. Last year the event drew thousands of eager shoppers, and this year they’re preparing themselves for the same crowd. You can buy a bag for $10 and whatever you fit in it is yours to keep. Doors open at 10 a.m. and close when everything has been sold. Be sure to show up early if you want to get a good spot in line. 

Super Bowl Sunday – February 1

You might not be able to see the Super Bowl in person, but kicking back in a comfy seat and watching it at the Rio Theatre is the next best thing. They’ll be screening the pre-game commentary and the game live on their big screen, complete with a licensed bar, live burlesque show, and plenty of enthusiastic football fans. And if that’s not enough to convince you, admission to the event is completely free. Touchdown!

Beauty and the Beast at Queen Elizabeth Theatre – February 3 to 8

It may be a tale as old as time, but Beauty and the Beast will never lose its charm. The Broadway musical adaptation of the Disney classic is coming to the Queen Elizabeth Theatre to dazzle audiences with its beautiful sets, timeless music, and everyone’s favourite characters. Grab your tickets online and move fast – you won’t want to miss this heartwarming story of love and acceptance.  

James Bond Live! – February 5

Action. Sex. Maple Syrup! This is 007 like you’ve never seen him before. James Bond Live! is a live interactive comedy show starring familiar faces from the Vancouver comedy scene. Watch as Bond tries to save Canada from “an evil so evil you will seriously not believe how evil” it is. Guests are encouraged to dress up like their favourite James Bond Character and enter their costume contest. We call dibs on Oddjob.

Beginner’s Guide to Classical Music – February 5
