1. Whistler Cornucopia Food and Drink Festival – Thursday, November 8 to Sunday, November 18

Whistler’s annual food and drink festival returns for 11 days of culinary events, from wellness workshops to wine seminars. Taking place in private homes throughout Whistler, the Chef’s Table Luncheon series allows guests to get up close and personal with some of the region’s top chefs including Alex Chen of Boulevard Kitchen and Oyster Bar, Ian McHale of Wildebeest and Jeff Park of The Salted Vine in Squamish.

2. Caviar Festival at Ancora Waterfront Dining and Patio – Tuesday, November 6 to Tuesday, November 27

Taste top-shelf caviar from around the globe at Ancora Waterfront Dining and Patio‘s three-week event. Executive Chef Ricardo Valverde will add six à-la-carte items to the dinner menu and give guests an opportunity to sample an array of exotic caviar-driven dishes featuring tobiko, herring and trout caviar. 3. Hypecity – Saturday, November 10

Buy, sell and trade sneakers at 50 tables featuring brands and models such as Yeezy and Supreme, as well as mint condition rare vintage items and limited edition shoes. Visit the trading pit for community trading opportunities with other sneaker fans.

4. Light Festival at Bear Creek Park – Until Saturday, November 10

Dazzling displays of illuminated trees and sparkling lights come to Surrey for seven days of celebrations. Head here for family fun on the final night of Saturday, November 10th with an activity zone, food trucks and roving performers.

5. Vancouver Train Expo – Saturday, November 10 & Sunday, November 11

All aboard British Columbia’s biggest train show when it comes to the PNE for two days of model railway fun with exhibits, vendors and showcases of intricate model trains on display.

6. The Enemy – Saturday, November 10 to December 1

The Enemy is a contemporary interpretation of Henrik Ibsen’s An Enemy of the People, which was written in 1882 about an ethically compromised anti-hero, environmental issues and political extremism. The traditionally male role of Dr. Stockman has been re-written as a woman to illustrate the obstructions women face when challenging the old boys club.

7. Eastside Cultural Crawl – Thursday, November 15 to Sunday, November 18

Vancouver’s four-day celebration of visual arts, design and crafts features more than 500 artists’ studios, homes and garages throughout Vancouver’s Eastside. This year, there is also a series of workshops and demonstrations in pottery, natural textile dyeing, glassblowing and live chainsaw carving, to help attendees learn more about art processes.

8. Dumb Instrument Dance: Public and Private – Tuesday, November 13 to Saturday, November 24

Choreographed by acclaimed Vancouver dance artist Ziyian Kwan, this full-length ensemble piece features a tribe of female-bodied dancers who move to the metered urgency of live Taiko. Expressing vulnerability and strength, this piece is an elegant and raw feminist inquiry into private and public perceptions.

9. An Evening with Fleetwood Mac – Wednesday, November 14

Grammy Award winners Fleetwood Mac come to Rogers Arena with the original line-up of Mick Fleetwood, John McVie, Stevie Nicks and Christine McVie—alongside newcomers Mike Campbell and Neil Finn—playing hits that stretch back to 1967 when the band formed.

10. Lights of Hope – Friday, November 16

Since 1998, St. Paul’s Foundation has been illuminating Lights of Hope, covering the Burrard Street side of the hospital with more than 100,000 light bulbs. Head there by 6:30 p.m. to catch the fireworks display that celebrates the start of the annual installation, which will shine until January 8, 2019. Food trucks and carolling will add to the celebrations.
